Southern Alberta Intergroup Elections
The annual elections for Southern Alberta Intergroup will be held on September 19, 2008. All positions within the Intergroup will be available. If you are interested, or know someone in your group that would be interested, please review the Job Descriptions, ask questions, and plan to attend the meeting on September 19. If you are not interested in a position, but would like to be involved in Intergroup in a different manner, please let your group representative know. Hope to see you at an Intergroup Meeting Soon!!

Congratulations are extended to Ken K. of Calgary, AB who has been elected to the position of Area Trustee for Area 2K, which is Southern Alberta. Ken will start his 2 year term on July 1, 2008. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please take a moment and send a message to Ken. You will be able to contact Ken through the website, after July 1.

A heartfelt Thank You is extended to Richard C. as his term as Area Trustee for Southern Alberta comes to an end. Over the past years Richard has represented our area at ISO meetings, and his commitment to the G.A. program has helped with the ongoing operations of Southern Alberta. Richard will continue his involvement in Service Work. If you see Richard at a meeting or function, take the time to say Thank You, as his dedication has enhanced the recovery of all those in Southern Alberta.
Edmonton Mini Conference

Southern Alberta Intergroup is looking for an individual to volunteer to take on the Treasurer Position or the Literature Chairperson Position. Southern Alberta is also looking for individuals to help out on the Telephone Hotline.

If you are new to Gamblers Anonymous and haven't yet attended your first meeting, please feel free to check out a sammple of some of the literature available from Gamblers Anonymous. You will find our sample online literature by Clicking Here. Once you have attended a meeting, you will find many pieces of our literature is available at the meetings.
Alberta Gamblers Anonymous offers a forum for Compulsive Gamblers to visit and share their experience, strength and hope. We have visitors
from around the world, and invite you to join us and share some tools of recovery. There is a link at the top of this page, that says FORUM, and
once you click on this link, you will be asked to register, before viewing any postings.
We have just installed a chat room program, that will allow members of the forum to visit with each other in real time. Currently, the chat room will be open on Wednesdays from 11:00a.m. - Noon MST and Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. MST.
The forum and chat room are offered as an additional tool in your recovery. They are not intended to replace your regular face to face meetings, that the Gamblers Anonymous Fellowship was based on. These tools are especially helpful to those members who don't live close to any face to face meetings. Please join us and help another brother/sister in their recovery!!

Alberta Gamblers Anonymous welcomes you to our website. We are a nonprofit, self-supporting fellowship of recovering compulsive gamblers who meet regularly to help each other recover from the disease of compulsive gambling. Our guides are the 12 Steps of Recovery and the 12 Steps of Unity of Gamblers Anonymous.
If you are new to Gamblers Anonymous, or are just visiting this site, and you are not sure if you are a compulsive gambler, or if you have a gambling problem, please take the time to ask yourself these 20 Questions, which will give you an indication if Gamblers Anonymous is for you.
Our geographical area covers all of Alberta from the windmills of Southern Alberta near the community of Lethbridge to the oilfields of Northern Alberta near Fort McMurray and all points in between.
We are proud members of the world wide fellowship of GA and gratefully support the International Service Office of Gamblers Anonymous.
